Penrose Point

Should sort to middle

Located in little traveled Carr inlet, Penrose Point is one of the gems of the state park system.

Leave the green cans well to port when entering the west bay. You will find mooring buoys on both the east and west side of the point. The ones on the west are set well back from shore to avoid the huge drying spit that appears at low tide. To reach the dock continue all the way into the west bay to the narrow. Channel between the point and Lakebay marina. Once past, make a hard turn to port to reach the dock. The inner end of the dock becomes very shallow at low tide.
